Using the Skills Library
Find a skill, check its readiness, use it with your agent, share feedback, and get help.
A skill is a reusable, shared workflow your coding agent can follow, such as creating Azure DevOps PBIs the team's way. The library lists the published skills, shows how ready each one is, and gives you the setup text for your agent.
Find a skill
Search by name, task, or tool on the Skills page, or narrow the list by readiness, tool, workflow, or owning team. Open a skill to see what it does, who owns it, and how ready it is.
Check its readiness
| Readiness | What it means |
|---|---|
| Required | Approved and expected for this workflow. |
| Production Ready | Approved for normal team use. |
| Team Review | Ready for teammates to try and give feedback. |
| Experimental | Early version. Try it deliberately; not yet approved for broad use. |
| Deprecated | Kept for reference. Don't use it for new work. |
Use it with your agent
- Open the skill and choose your agent: Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
- Select Copy setup.
- Paste the text into a new chat with that agent. It tells the agent where the skill lives and how to set it up.
Use Preview what gets copied to check the exact text before you paste it. Read full documentation covers requirements, examples, and safety limits. The Install guide has the setup commands if you'd rather install from a terminal.
Share feedback
Under Feedback in a skill, record whether it worked, what stood out, and an optional comment. Keep comments free of secrets, raw logs, and transcripts. Feedback needs a workspace role.
Suggest a skill
Select Add skill to describe a workflow worth reusing. Admins review each request; approved skills are published through the repository. The Contribution guide explains the standards.
Access and roles
Everyone who signs in can browse skills, read the guides, and copy setup text. Feedback and analytics need a workspace role (Admin, Operator, Scrum Lead, Team Member, or Read Only). Adding skills needs the Admin, Operator, Scrum Lead, or Team Member role. If your account shows No workspace role, ask a Skills Admin to assign one.
Get help
Start with the skill's documentation, then ask the skill's owning team listed on the skill. For sign-in or setup problems, see New User Setup.
